You are the expert in YOU!

Mental Health Services Done Differently

Live. Grow. Share. was founded with the intention to do mental health services differently.  We are the only Peer-Run Behavioral Health Organization of our kind in Oregon.  To us, it makes all the difference when trained and educated counselors have lived experience.  It enables a connection and trust that can take months to establish in other settings.

We want people to feel comfortable and accepted when they come to us for help with their mental health or substance use.  We aren’t here to “fix” you, we are here to support you in your journey of learning and growth, however that may look for you.

Who We Serve

Live. Grow. Share. offers a comprehensive range of services tailored for Medicaid recipients, including Mental Health Therapy, Substance Use Disorder Treatment, Problem Gambling Treatment, and specialized support for individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities. Our unique Peer Support Programs and Groups are designed to foster connection and growth. We proudly accept Trillium Community Health Plan, PacificSource Community Solutions, and open-card Medicaid.

Our Mission

To promote whole health, wellness and recovery of individuals in our community by offering a holistic and therapeutic setting led by Peers who have successfully navigated this journey themselves.

We approach healing from a humanist perspective, honoring the dynamic ways people are shaped by trauma while offering creative solutions to support healing and growth. L.G.S. provides equitable access to all of our programs and strives to set underserved populations up for success. We value community and people-driven power distribution and provide choices and opportunities for individuals to manage their own health.

We, as an organization, believe all people have a right to a high standard of care, regardless of their socio-economic status.

Our Approach to Mental Health and Drug Abuse

Our model of care is to make accessing treatment as easy for you as possible.  We know how hard it is to decide to make a change, and then reach out for help.  For this reason, we are here to remove barriers to getting started.  We can bring treatment to you, in your home or a comfortable place in the community.  We have welcoming therapy rooms in our office if you prefer to come to us.

All of our treatment programs are individualized, and one-on-one. We know group settings can be difficult for many people, and you’ll get better care when it’s just all about you.  While we have different groups you can choose to attend, we will never require you to do anything that doesn’t feel right to you.

Treatment and Support Methods:

Person-Centered, Person-Led Treatment Planning: You are in the driver’s seat. We help you create goals and a treatment plan based on the changes you want to make in your life, and how you want to make them.

Trauma-Informed, Trauma-Based Care:

Trauma tends to be at the source of most of what ails us.  Our minds are very creative at protecting us in the moments of trauma, and in projecting and protecting us from what might cause us trauma in the future.  We get to learn what mechanisms our minds are using to protect us, and realize how this may or may not be serving us as we move out of our trauma.  From there we can heal and make different choices.

Our programs were created with the assumption that every person receiving services has experienced trauma and every person providing services has experienced trauma.  Live. Grow. Share. adopts a trauma-informed culture.  Staff are provided with a high level of supervision and support, including awareness of secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue and burnout.

Harm Reduction:

Our Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program is a harm-reduction model. We do not require abstinence from substances to engage in our treatment programs.  You may begin where you are at and we can work together on reducing the harm that substances are causing in your life, however that may look for you.  Yes, we can support you in abstinence from all substances.  Yes, we can support you in reducing your abuse of substances without stopping all together.  Yes, we can support you in accessing resources to use substances more safely.

We support and partner with community programs providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for our participants.  MAT helps decrease the high-risk behavior associated with substance use and increases your quality of life as you move forward on your journey of healing and growth.

Evidence-Based Care:

Our certified behavioral health providers are trained and educated in effective Evidence-Based models and techniques such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Family Systems Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Peer Support

  • Matrix Model

  • Community Reinforcement Approach

Meeting Multicultural Needs:

Live. Grow. Share. prioritizes providing individuals access to providers from the same culture whenever possible.  Our organization employs staff to include diversity in the following areas: race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion/spirituality, and other intersectional underrepresented identity groups.  Each staff member and provider are hired not only based on their expertise and qualifications but just importantly on their diverse lived experience and the willingness to share these experiences when appropriate to support another’s growth and healing.  L.G.S. utilizes community connections when a need cannot be met within the organization.

All agency resources are ADA compliant and set up for the most independence possible.  Each staff member is trained and educated in trauma-informed care as well as the impact of culture on mental health.  When a need cannot be met in house, L.G.S. provides participants access and transportation to community-based support groups and services addressing client issues and interests that will enhance healing and community engagement.

At L.G.S. we understand the needs of diverse populations in intimate ways, as our organization is composed of individuals from various populations.  We understand the need to receive culturally specific and culturally represented services.  We understand health inequities and provide creative solutions to remove barriers.  We understand how rights can be violated when people are not educated about their rights and how systems are intended to function.  We have experienced injustices personally and have learned how to advocate, empower, and make meaningful changes in our community.  We get it because we've been there, but also because we understand that every person's experience is unique and it is our job to listen with an open mind and heart and learn from one another.  At L.G.S. we learn and grow together, always striving to do better and make a positive impact on our community.

The values of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion have been carefully embedded in the creation of L.G.S. and our unique programs. L.G.S. utilizes the Meyer DEI Spectrum Tool to assess and structure our policies, programs, committees, and work space community.  We have a designated multicultural committee with the task of ensuring all people are represented, included, and celebrated. At L.G.S., everyone has a voice, a seat at the table, and is received with respect, kindness, and non-judgement.
