Mental Health Therapy

Outpatient Mental Health Services

We provide individual therapy with the best mental health professionals, but of course we're biased.

We come from the perspective that mental health is pretty complicated and many things contribute to a person's state of mind.  We help you gain clarity about your life, what's happening in your mind, and where it may have originated.  From there, we work on healing and building skills to tackle anything life might throw at you so you're free to create the life you want.

We think outside the box and we know that traditional therapy doesn't work for everyone.  We will work together to create a treatment plan that works for your life and your style of communicating.  For example, appointments can happen on a walk, sitting by the river, while working on an art project, or in the comfort of your own home.

Types of Therapy Offered

There is no problem too big or too small, we can serve all individuals aged 5 and older with any diagnosis.

Here is a list of the types of therapy L.G.S. endorses:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Stress Management

  • Parent Training

  • Collaborative Relationships

  • Family Systems

  • Family Therapy

  • Couples Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Psychoeducational Therapy

Additional Peer Support

Peer support is available and encouraged for each client.  You will be matched with someone with similar life experiences who can help coach and guide you on your path.  Your person can meet with you at your house, on a walk, for coffee, wherever you feel most comfortable.  They help overcome barriers that keep you stuck in one place.  They can be your grocery shopping buddy or take you to the DMV (because who doesn't have anxiety about that!?)

Individuals enrolled in outpatient mental health also have access to our unique Peer Support Programs, such as Equine-Assisted Peer Support and Vehicle Rehabilitation Program, Dragonflies, and various healing groups and classes.

Meet Our Therapists

  • Allison Milner

    MSW, QMHP

I earned a Masters of social work degree from Colorado State University in 2003.

After spending 28 years in Colorado raising my children as a "solo" parent, I relocated to beautiful Oregon in the spring of 2023.

I personally know what substance abuse, addiction, and relapse feels like and how it affects your whole self.

I also live with my own mental health issues. It is because of my own personal journey that my therapeutic approach is very down to Earth, straightforward, and outside of the box techniques.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and sometimes implementing Art Therapy.

I enjoy leading groups! I have facilitated Co-Occuring SUD/MH, Relapse Prevention, and Women's Trauma groups.

I have experience working with adolescents and adults individually as well as experience in family therapy and couples therapy.

My favorite quote is "To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world." -Dr. Seuss

  • Maria Covernali

    MSW, CSWA

    ¡Hola! Hello!

I am Maria, a first-generation, Chicana/Latine/x, bilingual/bicultural, Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA). As a queer child of immigrants growing up in border towns, I had to navigate dual identities, and those experiences have informed my passions and my approach to clinical practice.

In my youth, I taught myself to read English fluently. My love for literature followed me to college, where I dual-majored in World Literature/Cultural Studies and Politics. After relocating to support my family, I pursued a Master’s degree in Social Work from Portland State University.

  • Breonn Anderson

    QMHP, MSW

I'm a Child and Family Therapist with experience working with children and families who have experienced trauma; thus, I often rely on Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as one of the main modalities in my work. I also rely on Humanistic Theory, Motivational Interviewing, and Art and Play Therapy, with Art and Play Therapy being the one of the main modalities I use when working specifically with children. In working with me you can expect a focus on relational repair within the family, a strength's-based approach because I believe everyone has their own resilience, and most of all, a collaborative process of working with clients as they are the experts of their own lives.

EFT

Emotional-Freedom Technique (EFT) is a technique used to access key acupressure points. Traditional Chinese Medicine suggests our body has energetic pathways and when we have strong feelings with no way of releasing them, that energy gets stored in the body.

Tapping on acupressure points allows the release of stagnant emotion from the body through accessing the central nervous system to break down the emotional intensity.

Angelica De La Torre works one-on-one with participants in individual sessions. Learn more here

Breathwork Group

Breathwork is an activated breathing technique that facilitates physical, mental, and emotional healing. This modality can promote self-awareness, self-empowered ability to connect to the body's natural rhythm, and processing emotion while focusing on using breathing as a way to release and reset.
